First, I think this site looks cool. I don’t see any other articles so I’m hoping to be the first.
I’m a 27 year old bartender at a bar in Miami, FL. I’ve been bartending for the last 3 years and have to say, without a doubt, mature women, 35-50, can be, by-far, my most difficult customers.
It doesn’t matter if these women are married or single, when they start drinking, they get very aggressive and don’t like it when I turn down their offers. It’s not that I don’t find some of these “cougars” attractive, because I do. It’s just that I’m not very turned on by a shit-faced woman who’s spilling her drinks and scaring off other customers.
Believe it or not, there are more women escorted out of here than guys. There’s something abotu the word “no” that women can’t handle….especially if they’re drunk. It’s even worse when there’s a group of them. I’ve had occasions where I’ve had them gang up on me and call me gay and ask me what’s wrong with their friend. Oh, by the way, I’m freaking working!
Most of them, in an attempt to get back at me, pay out their tab, and leave me 0 tip. It’s funny how I hear so many female bartenders complaining about the drunk guys they have to deal with because male bartenders have to deal with b.s. from the opposite sex too.
Women, please control yourself when you’re out. I like to flirt, but I don’t like babysitting a woman 10+ years my elder.
I don’t have a picture of one of these women so I’m just going to upload something random from Google. Hope that’s okay.

Smoke At Work!
If you are ever faced with that “is he gay” situation, you are welcome to use this line, provided it is funny.
“Gay? No, I like women, just not you.”
Groups of women are the worst. In addition to what you mentioned, they will inevitably ask for separate checks, even if they’ve only had one drink apiece, they’ll all pay with credit cards, and they’ll tip like shit. Ladies! Get it together! Learn how to take turns paying for rounds of drinks and LEARN HOW TO TIP! (Obviously my statement doesn’t apply to the ladies who work in F&B and already get it)
I can’t help but agree with you. Based on my own experiences, women, especially unattractive, overweight women, will be rude, take forever, ask for separate checks, then tip like shit.
i feel for bartenders male & female for putting up with all the drunk assholes. im a man and the one thing thing that i dont want is some drunk old broad trying to get her sexy on and slurring the whole time, but they have the nerves to turn their nose up at a man when the shoe is on the other foot. go figure. ladies if your breath smells like a old bottle of aged gin, then its time to carry your old ass in
i am a female and i have been bartending for 6yrs. i can handle a table of drunk dirty old men with ease. a table of drunk 50 something women whose husbands let them out or the day? that is stuff nightmares are made of.
Dude I hear you! I’ve been a bartender since 1990 and I still hate dealing with this. It’s still just as uncomfortable when they’re your own age! I will admit though, sometimes they come in handy.
