Why Do Black People Love Sitting In Booths?

black guy ordering agt a restaurant Why Do Black People Love Sitting In Booths?

Clearly, this guy is doing it wrong.

A phenomenon I just can’t understand is the love for booths black people have. What is it, about a booth, that seems to draw black Americans in like some type of tractor beam?

To be perfectly honest, I like to sit in a booth. I’m a white dude. But, if a booth isn’t available, I certainly don’t raise a stink about it. This isn’t always the case with black people.

Come 8:00 PM, the restaurant I work at gets “boofed” all night long. I”m not trying to be racist, so you can save all that. I guess it’s just a culture thing that I simply don’t understand. While I never see black women doing this, I constantly see younger black men laid way back in the booths. That behavior is both rude and obnoxious. I guess you can’t lay back in a chair, so you’ve got to have the booth.

I suppose it’s not “G” to sit, upright, in a restaurant.

The thing is, you are being racist. The key thing to remember is: Some people suck. Some white people suck, some black people suck. Overall, some people just suck. Take the word suck out of this and replace it with “like booths” and it remains true.

Here’s the key: When a person with a different skin tone than you happens to suck or like booths, then often you associate that preference with their ethnicity. In actuality, it’s just that person. When you walk away from your next white table, check yourself. Do you say to yourself ” this pain in the ass white person” … No. You see them as similar to you and therefore don’t associate whatever trait you dislike with their ethnicity.

I found this to be the case when I was a hostess at a buffet a few years ago. After a while I stopped trying to sit black people at a table because they ALWAYS wanted a “boof” across the room. The only exception I found to this was the elderly; Usually they wanted a table and I always tried to get them as close as I could to the buffet. It is not just black people that demand booths though….extremely overweight people like them too. The restaurant I worked with had 4-top booths and it never failed….a party of 6, 4 of these being 250-300lb+ and the other 2 of average weight or skinny, would try to fit in a booth that only sat 4 people. It was frustrating because you could say “our booths usually fit about 4 people, it may be uncomfortable”, “would you rather have a table that sits 6 people?”… and they would not believe you and insist to sit in the booth. I didn’t want to hurt their feelings and there is only so many ways you can explain that to them they won’t comfortably fit without mentioning their weight. Sometimes, you just have to let them learn for themselves. It was always painful to try and watch them squeeze in,with the skinniest person squished and tightly sandwiched between two obese people. Booths are more comfortable than tables…but when you are squished and do not have room to move your elbows to eat or your ass cheek is hanging off the seat…a table is the better option and it will not kill you. Usually, they would get embarrassed and say “well this here booth doesn’t look like it’s going to be able to fit us.” I always wanted to say “NO SHIT?!” Or “I tried to warn you” but instead I politely placed them at a 6-top table. There were still other times where they remained seated at the booth with the outer people’s asses or bodies hanging off the booth, the skinny people being suffocated, and the inner people pressed against the wall and bellies hanging over the table. I never understood how that was comfortable, and probably never will. BTW…these were mostly white people. xD

” I”m not trying to be racist…” Well, we all know what that usually means.

The problem with bigotry in general and racism in particular, is that people get angry at individuals because of what they imagine are negative attributes of a group.

If you think Left handed people as a group prefer the booths, and you don’t like that for some reason, then it would be futile to to disparage some random Left handed individual. I may be right-handed, but I’m not an appointed spokesman for ALL right-handed people.

Similarly, if you illogically dislike some group for any reason, you will find no solace in criticising individuals. Since nobody likes to be unfairly criticized, they may criticize back.

I am sorry, but many of the black people are a pain in the ass in all aspects! I know there are exceptions but a big percentage seem like they find something new everyday to make our lives miserable!

I’m a black and I certainly don’t demand a booth nor do I car which setting I’m directed to. Go figure.
