I recently got a new brake tag. Here in Louisiana, you pay $10, annually, for someone to check your headlights, blinkers, high beams, parking lights, reverse lights, windshield wipers, under your hood and horn. Oh, he also drives your car a few feet and slams on the brakes.
I don’t know how much these guys get paid, but it seems like a tough job with grueling hours. On top of that, I’m pretty sure the department of motor vehicles sets up stings to make sure they’re not issuing stickers to people who slip them a few extra bucks because their tint is illegal.
Personally, I tip them an extra few bucks. I throw in a few extra if they let me slide with, say, tiny that’s too dark. I’ll even throw in another dollar or two if they completely and cleanly remove the old sticker and do a good job adhering the new one to the windshield.
Do you tip the person who issues you your inspection sticker or brake tag? Why or why not?
Do you tip the brake tag (inspection sticker) guy?,

it can be consider illegal, but it is nice of you to give them a little something as a gratitude ..
