During a shift last week, two older ladies came in. This was a dream table. They had wine, food and dessert. They got though all that in just about 30 minutes. Everything was great until I picked up the book with the credit card receipt in it. Turned backwards was the signed copy of the credit card receipt. Facing me was a card about relieving stress, prayer, and the lord. There was a cat on the front of it. After seeing this, I was scared to see what the tip amount was going to be. Older ladies generally tip me about 10%…often less. I figured with this religious propaganda, I was going to get stiffed.
To my surprise, there was a very generous tip inside (given my experience waiting on older women). These ladies were doing it right. What I want to know is, did these ladies try to troll me? Or, did they turn the signed copy of the credit card receipt over so that I would read the card first, then get to the important part (my tip)?
I have absolutely no problem with someone leaving me a little advertisement for something with their tip, as long as there is a tip. Now, if you do something like this, I might just help you verify your beliefs in the afterlife.
